The Ward Committee Capacity Building program aims to equip citizens, councillors and ward engineers with the necessary know-how for running effective Ward Committees in their wards.
Approach
- Mobilising communities, councillors and ward officials by conducting orientation-cum-training sessions and workshops.
- Demystifying the role, rights, and responsibilities of Ward Committees as per the applicable Community Participation Act or Municipal Legislation.
- Creating awareness about Ward Committee best practices and success stories from other cities/wards.
- Equipping Ward Committees with ward-level data on Budgets & Infrastructure Score.
Milestones
- Signed an MoU with multiple Municipalities towards instituting and training Ward Committees – currently active in Faridabad, Mangalore, and Gurugram.
- Trained over 2000+ Ward Committee members/citizens and 400+ ward-level officials/Elected Representative.
