Ama Sahara is a technology platform created for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (H&UDD), Government of Odisha. It maintains details of solid waste management (SWM) processes of 30 districts that comprise 114 ULBs. In addition, it also serves as an online platform for the collection of SWM user fees, the portal for citizens to raise complaints and requests regarding SWM and for the concerned department to solve them.
Approach
We support the critical initiatives of the Department of Housing and Urban Development through a standard performance management structure and dashboard. Our technology platform includes Ama Sahara – a mobile application having a government and citizen-facing module and a web admin dashboard. The system provides required data to officials for performance reviews and brings transparency and accountability to build trust among citizens. The main highlights of the structure are:
Module for government: All relevant stakeholders associated with urban waste processing can record and monitor data on waste collection, segregation, processing, sale, disposal and SWM user fees.
Module for citizens: The citizen module helps submit, track and escalate complaints and requests dealing with urban solid waste management. It also allows payment of SMW user fees.
Web dashboard: This collates all key project metrics and other project management information from the SWM service chain across all 114 ULBs in the state.
The State and Urban Local Bodies can use the dashboard to look into different sets of data. They provide the data on the following:
Hon’ble Chief Minister Cleanest City Awards: Presents the leader board for the HCM CCA.
Facility: Details on the wealth centers (both MCCs* and MRFs*)
Waste Received: Daily data on total dry and wet waste received across the state.
Revenue Generated: Details on revenue generated through the sale of compost, recyclable waste and SWM user fees.
ULB-wise data: Data on waste collection vehicles, wall paintings, garbage and litter bins, etc.
ULB management: Adding and removal of concerned stakeholders for all the ULBs.
